Care Home

Balmoral House Care Home is run under the direct and personal supervision of the Proprietor Nick Woodward, a Registered Nurse and qualified Counsellor with 13 years’ NHS experience. He also holds NVQ Level 4 in Care Management which enables him to manage the Home, a requirement under the Care Standards Act 2000.  His family have owned and managed local care homes since 1967.

All staff are carefully selected by Mr. Woodward and are chosen first and foremost for their kind and caring nature.  They are encouraged to develop their skills through training programmes such as NVQ’s, in order to maintain the home’s  high standards of caring practices. 

This policy led to the Home being awarded the prestigious Investors in People Award in February 1999, being one of the first Care Homes in the area to achieve this award. Since then we have managed to retain the Award through the 3 yearly reviews conducted by Investors in People UK.

Balmoral House offers,  in a very homely manner, all the facilities required by the Care Standards Act 2000.  High standards are set and no effort or expense is spared in order to achieve a high quality of life for all residents.

The home is inspected twice a year by the Care and Social Services Inspectorate for Wales (CSSIW) and copies of their inspection reports are available for you to peruse online by clicking here.

Finally, Balmoral House currently holds the GOLD award in the Welsh Food Hygiene Award Scheme 2010

Many view a Care Home as the end of the road.  Not so - most residents receive a new lease of life when freed from the domestic chores and worries of cooking, repairs cleaning etc. which become more difficult in later years.  Moving home however, can be a major change and requires careful thought.  Before making your choice, it is advisable to view a variety of Care Homes and to receive good advice to help you make the right choice.
